While leading the sustainability program at a major aerospace company, founder, Brian Schoening, saw firsthand the limits of large corporations in addressing global sustainability challenges. He realized that achieving a more sustainable and equitable future requires the active participation and innovation of millions of start-ups and small- and medium-sized businesses.

Unfortunately, many companies lack the resources and expertise to effectively manage sustainability. They need a strategic partner that can simplify the process and optimize for impact. Brian Schoening

Founder & Principal Consultant

Brian brings nearly 20 years of experience as a corporate sustainability leader and aerospace engineer. With a childhood dream of becoming an astronaut and a passion for the environment sparked by surfing in Los Angeles and a sabbatical studying in France, Brian found a way to marry his passions and help the aerospace industry embrace sustainability.

As the driving force behind Northrop Grumman’s environmental sustainability and ESG programs, Brian has 12+ years of experience building and leading corporate sustainability programs. His expertise spans sustainability strategy, business decarbonization planning and implementation, and ESG management and reporting. He served on the International Aerospace Environmental Group’s Board of Directors and Hermosa Beach’s Green Task Force.

Previously a Design Engineer at Northrop Grumman and with experience at the XPRIZE Foundation, Boeing, and NASA’s Johnson Space Center, his engineering background provides unique perspective from which he views sustainability. 

Brian holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University, a M.S. in Space Management from the International Space University, and a Certificate in Global Sustainability from UCLA.

Based in Los Angeles, he enjoys riding the morning waves, exploring the culinary scene with his wife, and taking beachfront strolls with his two Italian greyhounds.
